Many long-time fans of Neil Diamond still remember when his 1976 album, A Beautiful Noise, first dropped. Hit Broadway musical celebrating Neil Diamond, now makes its way to Rochester for several shows at the iconic West Herr Auditorium Theatre in Rochester, New York this spring.
The jukebox musical fascinated audiences from the very beginning with a engaging story and catchy songs. The production follows the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, starting in the present day with Westenberg sitting in a therapist’s office. As Diamond, he details how he can no longer perform like he used to while the doctor helps him cope with that realization throughout A Beautiful Noise. The production goes back to Diamond's Brooklyn childhood, discussing his introduction to music and all memorable moments since then, including his journey to stardom and struggle with depression. But, what long-time Diamond lovers anticipate most is reliving Diamond’s catalog of hits in the Neil Diamond Musical.
This magnificent two-hour-and-15-minute adventure comprises two acts, the first ending with the beloved number Sweet Caroline, followed by a 15-minute intermission. After restocking on food and drink, rejoin the show for another hour of outstanding acting and storytelling.

A Beautiful Noise is led by esteemed theater director Michael Mayer and features a widely praised book by multi-awarded writer Anthony McCarten.
Brimming with entrancing songs, dance, and theatrics, this upcoming musical portrays the exclusive off-stage tales of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Neil Diamond.
The artist himself intimately collaborated with the production team to retain its genuineness, strongly promoting mental health awareness with a narrative framed through Neil’s therapy sessions. Eager fans are also in for a thrilling treat as the event presents some of his Billboard-breaking hits, such as “I'm a Believer,” “Cherry, Cherry,” and “Love on the Rocks.”
Featured in A Beautiful Noise’s talented cast are lead actors Nick Fradiani and Mark Jacoby, who’ll be playing the parts of a young and old Neil. Together, the pair will interpret the aspects of the singer’s identities in and out of the spotlight, unveiling fascinating new insights from his days of youth in Brooklyn to his record-breaking rise to stardom.
