Many long-time fans of Neil Diamond still remember when his 1976 album, A Beautiful Noise, first was released. Hit Broadway musical celebrating Neil Diamond, is now coming to to Rochester for several premiers at the legendary West Herr Auditorium Theatre in Rochester, New York this spring.
The jukebox musical fascinated audiences from the very beginning with a mesmerizing Broadway show and uplifting songs. The story follows the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, opening in the present day with Westenberg sitting in a therapist’s office. As Diamond, he explains how he can no longer make music like he used to while the doctor helps him navigate the trials brought by this reality throughout A Beautiful Noise. The play goes back to Diamond's youth, examining his introduction to music and all the good and bad times since then, including his rise to stardom and fight with depression. But, what long-time Diamond lovers anticipate most is re-experiencing Diamond’s catalog of hits in the Neil Diamond Musical.
This heart-wrenching two-hour-and-15-minute adventure comprises two acts, the first ending with the timeless classic Sweet Caroline, followed by a 15-minute intermission. After restocking on food and drink, rejoin the show for another hour of beautiful songs and engaging performances.

This spring of 2026, A Beautiful Noise - The Neil Diamond Musical will kick off a series of highly anticipated shows for its all-new national tour, including an appearance on Thursday 23rd April 2026 at the West Herr Auditorium Theatre.

The Neil Diamond Musical is headed by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer and employs a highly praised book by BAFTA Award-winning playwright Anthony McCarten.
With waves of captivating song and dance segments, this forthcoming musical recounts the exclusive off-stage stories of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Neil Diamond.
The singer himself strictly collaborated with the writing room to preserve its authenticity, adamantly championing awareness for mental health through Neil’s therapy sessions-framed narrative. Eager fans are also in for an exciting surprise as the musical presents a selection of his best-selling songs, such as “I'm a Believer,” “Sweet Caroline,” and “Song Sung Blue.”
Fronting A Beautiful Noise’s world-class cast are Nick Fradiani and Mark Jacoby, who’ll be performing the roles of a young and old Neil Diamond. Alternating, the two will lay out the aspects of the artist's identities in and out of the spotlight, uncovering intriguing new angles from his days of youth in Brooklyn to his record-breaking superstardom.
