Hamilton at West Herr Auditorium Theatre

Debuting in 2015 and running for almost 10 years now, Hamilton took Broadway by storm with its fresh approach. From Ron Chernow’s biography about Alexander Hamilton, we learn the life of Alexander Hamilton’s early years and rise to power as one of the Founding Fathers of Northern America. Written by American composer and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda who is also known for his numerous accomplishments in both Broadway and film, also writing the music and lyrics for previous Broadway play In the Heights, another Tony award-winning production, and is also responsible for the music and lyrics in popular musical films such as Moana. This hit musical, featuring a mixed cast, is set to a score that combines new genres like hip-hop, jazz, R&B and more, which has made Hamilton all the more innovative and exciting by bringing these music genres to Broadway. Songs such as “Satisfied”, “Wait For It”, and “You’ll Be Back”, have become loved by many as Broadways best memorable songs from the production since its Broadway release. Lin-Manuel Miranda has said that his music inspiration for Hamilton to become top rap and hip-hop rappers of USA, he wanted to unite the different genres together, something that was unheard of. The music of Hamilton are praised hugely by New York critics alike, as compared to the other Broadway musicals that have been staged, Hamilton continues to be more fast-paced and engaging than many.

Hamilton has garnered a record-breaking 11 Tony Awards and an extra 16 Tony nominations, Grammy Awards, Olivier Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and even a special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors. So far, Hamilton has achieved global acclaim as it continues its limited runs all over the world, including the continents of Europe and Asia.

Hamilton is now available this fall in West Herr Auditorium Theatre, the greatest theater for the arts in Rochester, where previous shows have been received incredibly well. Tickets for the Friday 28th November 2025 showing are limited as Hamilton will only be running for a short time in West Herr Auditorium Theatre during November.
