Guitars & Stars starring Nate Smith, Ashley Cooke, Alexandra Kay, Julia Cole & Aaron Watson comes to West Herr Auditorium at WBEE on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026. WBEE’s Guitars & Stars brings country’s biggest stars to change up the country entertainment landscape.
Nate Smith, most recently known for his time as the drummer for experimental jazz group The Bad Plus, headlins the late night concert event on campus with his latest singles “Wildfire” and new single “California Gold.” Smith will be joined on the trip by up-and-coming artist Ashley Cooke, Grammy-nominated Alexandra Kay, Julia Cole and Texas native Aaron Watson, who was the first independent musician to reach No. 1 on the Billboard charts with his new album The Werewolf.

Hear Ashley Cooke, a Parkland-born and -raised singer and songwriter with a sweet yet confident voice, play original songs like “your place” and “Jealous of the Sky.” Cooke performs songs off her latest album, Parkland-born singer Ashley Cooke’s upcoming project “ace” (2025).
You have been warned! Alexandra Kay is coming to Rochester with over 8.6 MILLION views across ALL social media platforms. With her original and honest voice, Alexandra performs a selection of her songs from her new 2025 album "Second Wind" (which went straight to No 1 on iTunes All Genre and Country charts and has achieved a Top 10 position on Billboard's Current Country Albums chart and a Top 15 position on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart).
At 23 years old, Texas native Julia Cole (Klein, TX) is a Nashville-based artist working to write a country music family message about sisterhood, healing, and the empowerment of women. Using her platform to uplift women, Cole’s music has accumulated 700 million streams, including hits like “Best Worst Ex” and “Side Piece.”
Aaron Watson may be best known to followers of Texas country music as a veteran of the style with over 20 releases spanning two decades. Fans of Watson’s original Texas country material will recognize well-loved tracks like “Outta Style”, “Freight Train” and “The Underdog”, the 2015 release that made Watson the first independent male country artist to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
The West Herr Auditorium is located in the heart of Rochester's art district, in the Neighborhood of the Arts at 885 East Main Street. The Theater is a classic Performing Arts Venue owned and operated by the Rochester Broadway theater League. The Theater has three levels of seating featuring a combination of Orchestra, Balcony and tiered seating arrangement with a total seating capacity of 2,464 seats, including accessible seating for patrons with disabilities. Throughout the Theater patrons can enjoy their beverage or snack from any of our multiple bars and concession stands, conveniently located on each level of the Theater. For patrons driving to the theatre, RBTL has six paid parking lots circling the West Herr Auditorium theatre. These lots are available for parking 90 minutes prior to the 6:30 PM doors for all ticketholders. Street parking, and other off and on-site parking facilities are also available in the local area and within walking distance of West Herr Auditorium Theatre.
